Dear Future Me...

Whilst lying in bed last night, I decided that, today, I would write Future Me an email, set to to arrive on the next leap day on 29th February 2028. I’ve just written it and I found it to be quite a cathartic experience.

Whilst writing about what my hopes and intentions are for me, and my family, on this day in 2028, it reminded me how lucky I am right now, today.

The first sentence says it all: “Dear Future Me, I hope on this leap day, you are as happy as what you are, today, in 2024”.

If you are pondering whether to do this for yourself - give it a go! It doesn't need to be a leap day email, it can be any point in time - a period of time that feels comfortable for you to project forward what you hope to be true at that point in the future. I found it to be a lovely, grounding exercise.
